You stop a few times to catch your breath and take photos, but mostly you're riding, feeling the terrain shift under the tires, navigating the gears yourself. It's physical, which is why the tour asks for at least moderate fitness, but it's not a race. Your guide sets the pace and stays with the group the whole way.
