The tour starts with pickup and moves through Valencia's center, passing the Quart Towers—15th-century Gothic gates that still bear marks from old artillery—and the Convent of Santo Domingo, a 13th-century complex that now houses the Captaincy General. You'll see the Bancaja Foundation cultural center, the Gardens of the Roundabout with their 19th-century landscaping, and the Puerta del Mar, a 20th-century memorial arch that marks where the old city walls once stood. This former riverbed has been transformed into one of Europe's largest urban parks, and the tour covers its green spaces, historic bridges—including the Trinity Bridge with its Gothic stonework from the 15th and 16th centuries—and the Bridge of Flowers (Mayor Rita Barberá), opened in 2002 and decorated with seasonal plantings. You'll pass the Clock Building, a 20th-century port landmark, and Tinglado 2, a modernist warehouse now used for exhibitions and cultural events. The route takes in La Pamela, a circular covered structure by the old harbor, and the Veles e Vents Building, an avant-garde structure built for the America's Cup that now hosts cultural events and dining.

The final stretch moves through the City of Arts and Sciences, the architectural complex built on the old riverbed. You'll see L'Hemisfèric, the eye-shaped building opened in 1998 that houses a screening room; L'Umbracle, a landscaped walk with white arches and Mediterranean plants; the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, the opera house opened in 2005; and the Oceanogràfic, Europe's largest aquarium. The Bridge of Azud del Oro, a cable-stayed bridge with a distinctive sloping pylon, connects these spaces. The guide provides stories and context throughout, and there's time to photograph and take in the views.
