The experience

The route starts at Town Hall Square, where your guide explains the city hall and the cathedral overlooking it: the biggest in Valencia, standing beside old Roman street remains and a basilica. From there you bike into the old city center's narrow streets, past spectacular buildings that frame the route before you reach the Túria.

The Túria Riverbed Gardens are the spine of the day: a 9 km park that follows what was once a river, now lined with trees and bordered by landmarks. You'll pass under a bridge designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, cross a span covered in flowers, and ride past the Palau de la Música: a grand concert hall with a fountain in front. The Gulliver playground appears next, a giant structure shaped like the character from the novel, designed for children to climb and explore. The guide points out each building and explains what you're seeing as you pedal through.

The final stretch takes you to the City of Arts and Sciences, where modernist structures by Santiago Calatrava dominate the landscape: the Science Museum, the opera house, and the IMAX cinema. You can enter the Umbracle, a botanical garden within the complex, during the tour. The route passes the Valencia Oceanogràfic, Europe's largest aquarium, where your guide shares details about the facility before you head back toward the city center to finish.
