The experience
You start with a theory session on land, where instructors walk you through the fundamentals of breathing underwater and using the gear. Then you board the boat headed to a cliff-side bay accessible only by water: a protected spot away from crowds where the seabed is safe for beginners. The dive itself lasts about 35 minutes and takes you down to a maximum of 8 meters, where you'll see rockfish, starfish, octopus, anemones, and the UNESCO-protected Posidonia seaweed in its natural state. An instructor stays with your group of four throughout, guiding you in a circular route and keeping the pace manageable.
Once your dive is done, you return to the boat while the next group goes down. That's when you can snorkel with the mask and tube provided, swim, or simply rest on deck in the sun with bottled water at hand. The whole outing takes around 4 hours from start to finish, including the boat ride back to San Antonio port. Non-confident swimmers can still participate because you're under constant supervision. The shallow, confined bay and small group size make it a controlled environment to get comfortable underwater for the first time.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
Can I snorkel if I don't want to scuba dive?
Snorkeling is included after the scuba groups finish their dives, so you can use the mask and tube provided to explore the same bay at the surface while others are below. You're not required to dive if you prefer to snorkel only.
What's the dive site like at 8 meters depth?
The site is a confined bay in a cliff area 35 minutes from San Antonio port, protected and away from crowds. You'll see rockfish, starfish, octopus, anemones, and the UNESCO-protected Posidonia seaweed in a wild, undisturbed environment designed for beginners to dive safely.
How small are the diving groups?
Groups are a maximum of four beginner divers per instructor, so you get close attention and a controlled pace throughout your 35-minute dive.
What happens if I'm not a confident swimmer?
Non-confident swimmers can participate because instructors supervise you the entire time. The shallow, confined bay and small group size create a safe setting to learn, and you're never alone underwater.
Is there anything to do while waiting for my turn to dive?
While other groups are diving, you can snorkel with the provided equipment, swim in the bay, or relax on the boat deck. Bottled water is available throughout the day.
