The experience
What makes this different from a beach snorkel is the walk itself. You start on foot along an unspoilt stretch of coast, following a rocky path to reach a small cove most visitors never find. The outbound hike takes about 30 minutes, and the terrain is what keeps the crowds out. This is not a resort beach. Once you reach the water, the snorkel mask and fins are provided, and the real discovery begins: you move between sea cavities and rock basins carved into the shoreline, each one opening onto the Mediterranean.
The Cova de Llevant, the Pirate Cave, is the centerpiece. Three openings, sculpted walls and windows framing the sea make it feel like a film set, and the guide will take you inside to see how erosion has shaped it. Between the cave and the cove sits a natural stone bridge, also carved by water and time. You'll also find the natural jacuzzi, a rocky basin whose water level rises and falls with recent rainfall, creating a warm pool effect when conditions align. The whole route is built for photography: the turquoise water, the rock formations, the cave openings all frame themselves.
The return journey takes about 30 minutes on foot. Total time in and out is 4 hours. You can book with hotel pickup included or meet the guide at a set point. The guide speaks English, Spanish or French, so confirm your language preference when you book.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and French.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the Pirate Cave actually like to swim into?
The Cova de Llevant has three openings and sculpted walls shaped by the sea, creating a natural tunnel effect with windows framing the Mediterranean. You enter by water with your snorkel gear, and the guide leads you through to see how the cave opens to the outside.
How much of the 4 hours is actual snorkeling versus walking?
About 30 minutes of walking gets you to the cove, then roughly 3 hours covering the snorkel route through the coves, cavities and cave, with the return walk taking another 30 minutes.
Do I need to bring my own snorkel gear?
No. The mask, snorkel and fins are provided as part of the activity. Bring a towel and a way to secure your phone or camera if you want to photograph the cave and rock formations.
Is this snorkeling suitable if I'm not a strong swimmer?
The activity requires at least a moderate level of physical fitness because of the coastal hiking and the time spent in the water moving between rock formations. The guide will be with you throughout, but you should be comfortable in the sea and able to manage the rocky terrain on foot.
Can I book this if I'm staying outside Ibiza town?
You have two options at checkout: snorkeling with hotel transfer included, or meeting the guide at a set meeting point. Choose the option that works for where you're staying.
