The Experience

The boat leaves from the Contaderos Dock and runs on solar and electric power, which means you hear the water and the guide instead of an engine. You'll pass under the Isabel II Bridge into the Triana neighborhood, where the guide can point out Bétis street and the buildings along the opposite bank. The route then moves toward Isla de La Cartuja, where the 1992 Universal Exposition was held; you'll see pavilions like the Navigation building and the bridges built for that event—La Barqueta and Alamillo.

The first stretch takes you past Torre del Oro, the golden tower that sits on the Contaderos Dock and is one of Seville's most recognizable monuments. From the boat you get a perspective of it that you won't find from the street. Just before that, you'll see María Luisa Park and Plaza de España from the water—both built during the 1929 Ibero-American exhibition—along with some of the pavilions from that era, including the ones from Argentina and Chile. The Costurero de la Reina is also visible from this stretch.
