The experience
The K4 sports section picks up where the easier route ends, built for climbers who want real obstacles. You'll start by ascending a series of metal staples to a sloping ledge with handrails, then climb higher to a viewpoint 60 meters up: a natural rest spot if you need it. From there the route gets serious: the Hinge Pass sends you on an exposed walk 90 meters above the ground, just two meters out from the wall, with nothing but air beneath you. The inverted staircase comes next, forcing you to climb backward and feel the drop as you move. Forty-meter suspension bridges and a final ramp round out the obstacles before you finish.
Your guide handles the technical side so you can focus on the climbing. They explain each challenge before you tackle it, offer advice on technique and footwork, and encourage you through the harder sections. All the gear comes with you: helmet, harness, via ferrata dissipator and everything else you need to stay safe on the cables. You're covered by nominative accident insurance and liability insurance for the whole activity. The guide also photographs the route so you have images of yourself on the wall.
The route takes four hours total. You'll need at least moderate fitness to manage the sustained climbing and the mental side of moving at height, especially on the exposed sections. Guides speak English, Spanish or French, so language isn't a barrier. Groups stay small enough that the guide can watch everyone and adjust the pace if needed.

Is this one for you?Small groups work best here because the guide can watch everyone on the exposed sections and adjust the pace to the slowest climber. Come with friends or solo: either way, you'll move as one unit with one guide, so the experience stays personal and safe even on the 90-meter traverses.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and French.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What exactly is the Hinge Pass on the Redován Via Ferrata K4?
The Hinge Pass is a traverse 90 meters high where you walk along the rock face just two meters out from the wall, with open air below you. It's the signature exposed section of the K4 route and requires you to trust the cables and your footwork.
Do I need climbing experience to do the K4 sports section?
No prior climbing experience is required, but you need moderate physical fitness and comfort with heights. The guide teaches you how to use the equipment and move through each obstacle, so the challenge is physical and mental rather than technical.
What happens if I can't complete the route?
The guide works at your pace and encourages you through each section, but if you need to turn back, you can descend the way you came. The guide will support you and adjust the experience to what you're comfortable with.
Are the suspension bridges safe?
Yes. All equipment, including the suspension bridges, is inspected and maintained. You're clipped to the cables the entire time with a via ferrata dissipator, which is a safety device that prevents falls. Nominative accident insurance covers all participants.
Can I do this activity alone or do I have to join a group?
You can come alone or bring friends. Either way, a qualified guide leads the route and stays with you throughout the four hours.
What's the difference between the K4 sports section and the easier route?
The K4 is the advanced section with higher difficulty, steeper climbing, greater heights (up to 90 meters), and more exposed sections like the Hinge Pass. The easier route is a good introduction if you want to start lower and build confidence before tackling K4.
