Private surf coaching on Fuerteventura lasting three hours, with one instructor adapting to your ability and goals. Surfboard, wetsuit and leash are included. The coach works in English or Spanish and welcomes children from age 6. You'll need moderate fitness and should not have spinal injuries or cardiovascular concerns.

The experience

Three hours gives you time to move past the first pop-up and actually feel what the board does under you. Working one-on-one means the instructor watches your stance, your timing, your weight distribution, the things a group lesson skips, and adjusts the teaching on the water instead of shouting corrections from the beach. You get a surfboard, wetsuit and leash. The coach speaks English or Spanish and meets you where you are, whether you've never stood on a board or you're working on reading the swell.

The lesson builds around what you need, not a fixed sequence. If you're nervous about paddling out, that's where you start. If you want to work on turning, the coach finds the right waves for it. Children from age 6 can join. The physical demand is moderate, and you should be in reasonable cardiovascular health to spend three hours in the water.

What's the difference between private coaching and a group surf lesson?

Private coaching means one instructor focuses on your technique, your fears and your goals for the whole three hours. A group lesson divides the instructor's attention across multiple students and moves through a set plan regardless of where each person is.

Do I need to bring my own wetsuit and board?

No. The lesson includes a surfboard, wetsuit and leash, so you arrive with just yourself and a towel.

Can my six-year-old take the lesson with me?

Yes, children from age 6 are welcome. The instructor can work with both of you or focus on one while the other practices nearby, depending on what you prefer.

What if I've never surfed before?

The coach starts with the basics (how to paddle, how to pop up, how to balance), and works at whatever pace makes sense for you. Private coaching is built for beginners because the instructor can slow down or speed up without holding back or rushing anyone else.

Is there a meeting point, or do I need to find the beach myself?

The operator will confirm the meeting location and time when you book. Fuerteventura has several good beginner breaks. The coach will choose based on the conditions that day and your experience level.
