A private silk-painting class in Valencia where you design and paint your own 55x55cm scarf under instruction from a Valencian artisan. The guide introduces the silk cocoon, Valencia's UNESCO Silk Road heritage, and weaving types, then you sit at your own frame and paint the pre-drawn design with mixed colors to your taste. You collect the finished scarf 24 hours later.

The experience

The class runs two hours in the artisan's studio. You'll start with an introduction to the silk cocoon, its fibers, and how Valencia's weaving tradition shaped the city. It's been part of the UNESCO Silk Road since 2017. The guide demonstrates the painting technique on silk, showing you how pigment behaves on the fabric and what happens when you mix colors. Then you move to the work area where your scarf is already stretched on a frame with the design drawn in line, waiting for color.

You sit down with your brushes and paint to your own taste, mixing colors as the guide instructs. Tea or coffee arrives while you work, and music plays in the background. The scarf stays with the artisan for 24 hours to set and finish. You pick it up at the same studio the next day. You leave with an original piece you made yourself and the memory of how it's done.
