A private 3-hour sailing charter on a 42ft Beneteau Oceanis yacht in Marbella, where you choose whether to take the helm, learn to sail, spot dolphins or simply anchor and swim. The boat carries snorkeling equipment, a paddle board, drinks and snacks. A captain and crew handle the navigation and safety. English and Dutch-speaking captains are available.

The experience

You arrive at the harbor in Marbella and step aboard the Bliss, a 42-foot Beneteau with three cabins, a saloon and two bathrooms: more space than most charter boats carry. The captain briefs you on what's possible in the afternoon: if you want to learn the basics of sailing, they'll walk you through it; if dolphins are moving through the water that day, you'll head toward them; if the light is right for a sunset, the route bends that way. The boat is yours to shape.

The deck is wide enough to spread out without crowding, and the cockpit is built for comfort rather than racing. You can take turns at the helm if you want, or sit back while the captain handles the sails and the engine. Snorkeling gear and a paddle board are on board: drop anchor in a calm bay and the water is yours. Bottled water, sodas, snacks and alcoholic drinks (for guests 18 and over) come with the charter, so you're not managing supplies or rationing time between stops.

The 3-hour window is long enough to motor out past the immediate coast, find something worth stopping for, and still catch the light changing over the water on the way back. A captain and crew handle fuel and navigation. You handle the day itself.
