Learn to paddle and snorkel off Mallorca's quietest cove in 90 minutes
You arrive at Cala Ratjada, learn stand-up paddle basics in the shallows, then paddle along the coast for 90 minutes with a guide who stops at snorkeling spots and adjusts the route to your pace. You get all equipment, a snorkel mask, water, and photos. Transport to the beach is your responsibility.
Step-by-step itinerary
Stand Up Paddle tour in Cala Ratjada
- Introductory Stand Up Paddle class
- Explore Cala Ratjada landscapes by paddle
- Swim and snorkel in unique spots
The Experience
The boards are already lined up on the sand when you arrive, and your guide is running through the basics—feet shoulder-width apart, knees soft, paddle grip loose. Within ten minutes you're upright and moving, which is faster than you'd think. The introductory class happens right there in the shallows of Cala Ratjada, so there's no sitting in a classroom or watching a video; you get on the board and learn by doing, with the guide staying close enough to correct your weight or your stroke.
Once you've got the rhythm, the tour moves out along the coast. The water is clear enough that you see the bottom, and the cliffs rise up behind you in that particular Mallorca shade of rust and gold. Your guide points out where to paddle next, and you stop at spots that are too small or too rocky to reach any other way—places where the snorkeling is actually worth the effort. You've got a snorkel mask included, and the guide knows which rocks hold fish and where the water stays calm enough to float and look down without fighting the current. There's time to swim between stops, and the whole thing moves at a pace that doesn't leave you gasping.
The small group size—nobody says exactly how many, but it's not a lineup of twenty boards—means the guide can actually see you and adjust the route if someone needs a break or if the conditions shift. You get bottled water, the photos the guide takes on their phone, and all the equipment. Transport to Cala Ratjada isn't included, so you'll need to arrange that yourself, but once you're there, everything else is handled.
What’s included
Stand-up paddle board and paddle for each participant, snorkel mask, professional guide for the full 90 minutes, bottled water, and photos taken during the tour. You arrange your own transport to Cala Ratjada.
Operated by SUP Center Cala Ratjada
Is this one for you?Right for anyone who wants to learn paddleboarding in a real setting rather than a pool, and who doesn't mind arranging their own transport to the beach—the small group and calm cove mean you'll actually improve and see something underwater, not just float around.
