The experience
The coach picks you up from one of eight meeting points across Albir, Altea, Benidorm or Calpe, then drives inland for 35 to 40 minutes to reach Guadalest. The village sits on a mountain ridge and has narrow streets, old stone buildings and views across the valley. You explore on your own for two hours (extended to three during June and September), so you set the pace through the lanes and decide where to stop.
After Guadalest, the tour heads to Algar Falls, a series of natural waterfalls and pools fed by mountain streams. The falls cascade down multiple levels, and there are designated swimming areas, a diving spot, and gentler pools and streams for wading. Bring swimwear and a towel if you plan to get in the water. The afternoon is unscheduled, so you choose how long to stay in the pools and which levels to explore. The water can be cold and the site involves many steps, so comfortable shoes are essential.
Museum entrance fees at Guadalest are optional and paid separately. The tour returns you to your original pickup point by evening. Note that water entry is sometimes restricted by local authorities if conditions are unsafe, and the site is not suitable for people with significant walking difficulties or mobility challenges due to the number of steps throughout the falls.

Is this one for you?The unscheduled time in both locations suits travelers who want to set their own pace rather than follow a fixed itinerary, and the afternoon at the falls works best if you're comfortable with swimming in cold mountain water and navigating steps. Book this tour if you're staying anywhere along the coast from Albir to Calpe and want to reach both sites in a single day without renting a car.
