Learn to dive in two hours, then meet the fish

A two-hour scuba diving baptism in Caleta de Fuste combines classroom instruction, pool training and a supervised beach dive to 6 meters, with all equipment provided and photos included. The course is not recommended on the same day as flying. Guides speak English, Spanish, French, German and one additional language.

The Experience

The course breaks into three parts over two hours. You start with theory—the instructor walks through how the equipment works, the hand signals you'll use underwater, and the safety rules that keep the dive straightforward. Then you move to the swimming pool for a first immersion, where you get comfortable with the gear and the breathing rhythm before the real water.

The beach dive at Caleta de Fuste is where it clicks. You'll reach a maximum depth of 6 meters and see the local marine life in their habitat—the part most people come for. The whole thing is built so a beginner walks in with no experience and walks out having actually dived. All the equipment is there waiting for you, and the instructor stays with you the entire time.

You'll get photos of the dive downloaded to the website afterward, so there's proof it happened. The one thing to plan around: don't book this on the same day you're flying—your body needs time to adjust after diving. Caleta de Fuste is close to Puerto del Rosario and the airport, so it's easy to fit into a Fuerteventura itinerary on a day when you're staying put.

Top questions

Can I do a scuba baptism if I've never dived before?

Yes—the scuba diving baptism is designed for complete beginners. The course starts with theory and pool practice before the beach dive, so you learn the basics and build confidence in controlled water first.

What's the maximum depth I'll reach?

You'll reach a maximum depth of 6 meters during the beach immersion, which is shallow enough to keep the dive safe and manageable while you're still learning.

What languages does the instructor speak?

The guide speaks English, Spanish, French, German and one additional language, so you can follow the instruction in whichever language works best for you.

Will I get photos from the dive?

Yes—photos of your activity are included and available for download on the website afterward, so you have a record of the experience.

Is there a minimum age for the scuba baptism?

The minimum age is 10 years old. The course is suitable for all physical fitness levels, though it's not recommended for pregnant travelers or those with poor cardiovascular health.

When shouldn't I book this dive?

Don't schedule the scuba baptism on the same day you're flying—your body needs time to adjust after diving before air travel.
