The experience
You arrive at Tangier port and a private car meets you there, or the driver picks you up from your Malaga hotel if you choose that option. The route to Chefchaouen takes the morning. Once you drop your bags at a traditional riad or hotel, your local guide walks you through the entire city: the blue-painted medina, the narrow streets, and Ras el-Maa Waterfall, where the water runs down into the town. You sleep in Chefchaouen that night.
Day two starts with the drive back to Tangier. A knowledgeable guide meets you there and takes you on a panoramic tour of the colonial buildings, Cap Spartel, the Sultan's Palace, the Necropolis, and the Caves of Hercules, where the Atlantic and Mediterranean waters meet. You stop at an Atlantic dune for photos (camel riding is optional). Then comes the medina walk: the small souk with its dried fruit, vegetable and spice stalls, the jewelers' street where your guide explains Moroccan wedding rituals, and the Kasbah's old fortress architecture.
The ferry back to Spain is premium class with drinks, water, pastries and a sandwich included. Your guide or driver stays with you throughout both days and handles all navigation and explanations. The rental van covers all fuel, tolls and parking. It comes with comprehensive insurance and unlimited kilometers. If you book from Malaga, hotel pickup and drop-off are included. If you depart from Tarifa Port, you arrange your own arrival there.

Is this one for you?Book from Malaga if your hotel is in the city or surroundings and you want pickup included. Book from Tarifa Port if you are already on the coast and prefer to start your journey there. Either way, the private guide and vehicle mean you move at your own pace through both cities without coordinating with other travelers or managing ferry bookings yourself.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French and Arabic.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is Ras el-Maa Waterfall like in Chefchaouen?
Ras el-Maa Waterfall runs down into the medina itself, and your guide shows you the site as part of the walking tour on day one. It is a small waterfall within the city rather than a separate excursion.
Do I need a visa to enter Morocco from Spain?
Citizens of most EU countries, the US, Canada, Australia and many others do not need a visa for Morocco. Check the operator's full list of visa-exempt nationalities before booking. A current valid passport is required on the day of travel.
What happens if the ferry is cancelled due to bad weather?
Ferry cancellations are rare but possible in bad weather. If the return ferry cancels, the ferry company arranges an alternative port near Tangier. The return may be delayed two to three hours, and the operator provides a meal and transfer to that port.
Is lunch included in the tour?
Lunch is not included in the tour price, but your guide can suggest where to eat. The ferry on day two includes drinks, water, pastries and a sandwich.
Can I ride a camel during the Tangier portion?
Camel riding at the Atlantic dune stop is optional and arranged on the day. It is not included in the base tour price.
