La Herradura motor yacht cruise: 4-hour all-inclusive sail
Four hours on the water with lunch, drinks and everything you need to swim
A half-day luxury motor yacht cruise from Granada sails west to La Herradura, a natural bay where the boat anchors for swimming, snorkeling and water sports. The skipper points out 16th-century shipwreck sites and stone watchtowers along the Costa Tropical coast. Champagne and seasonal fruit greet you at boarding; a full meal, all drinks and snorkeling gear are included, with no additional charges.
The Experience
You board with a chilled glass of Cava and fresh seasonal fruit, then settle in while the skipper runs through safety and answers questions. The motor yacht leaves the marina and heads west, passing the Punta de la Mona headland into the bay of La Herradura. Along the way the skipper points out the site of a 16th-century shipping tragedy where 23 vessels foundered, and the 12th-century stone watchtowers that still stand on the coastline—landmarks most people on the shore never see.
The boat rounds the Cerro Gordo headland and anchors at La Cantarrijan, a natural beach where the real part of the day begins. You can swim in the bay, snorkel with provided equipment, explore the old smugglers' caves if the weather allows, or take out the kayak and SUP paddleboards. A full meal arrives while you're in the water or on the deck, and the bar stays open the whole time—Cava, beer, gin, vodka, rum, whisky, soft drinks and water, no tabs, no limits.
This is the only 4-hour sailing experience on this stretch of coast that bundles everything: the boat, the crew, fuel, food, drinks, snorkeling gear and water toys all in one price. No hidden charges, no upsells. The skipper speaks English, Spanish or French depending on the group.

What is La Cantarrijan and what can you do there?
La Cantarrijan is a natural beach on the Costa Tropical where the boat anchors for the second half of the cruise. You can swim in the bay, snorkel with provided equipment, visit old smugglers' caves (weather permitting), and use the kayak and SUP paddleboards while lunch is served on deck.
Is the boat a catamaran or a motor yacht?
The cruise operates on a luxury motor yacht called Charlie Ruggle, a skippered vessel with a full crew. The operator also runs a catamaran called Optimist of London II on similar routes, but this product is the motor yacht option.
What drinks are included, and is there a limit?
All drinks are included with no limit: Cava, beer, water, soft drinks, gin, vodka, rum and whisky. The bar stays open throughout the 4-hour cruise, and you pay nothing extra.
Can you book this as a private charter, or does it sail with other groups?
You can book either a private charter (minimum 6–8 adult guests) or a shared charter with up to 10–12 guests total. Both options include the same meal, drinks, snorkeling gear and water sports.
What historic sites does the skipper point out along the coast?
The skipper shows you the site of a 16th-century shipping tragedy where 23 ships foundered, and the 12th-century stone watchtowers built along the coastline to defend against raids. Both landmarks are visible from the water but rarely seen from shore.
Is pickup from your hotel included?
Pickup is included with the cruise. Minibus transfers from your hotel or apartment can be arranged; contact the operator for pricing.
