Marbella Catamaran Tour Sailing with Dolphin Watching
Sail in search of dolphins, then anchor to swim and paddle surf in open water.
A 2-hour catamaran excursion from Marbella aboard the Lagoon 380 for small groups of up to 12 people, with dolphin watching, snorkeling, paddle surfing and a complimentary drink included. The crew guides you through safety and equipment use, and the route changes based on sea conditions to maximize the chance of spotting dolphins in their natural habitat. A live guide speaks English, Spanish or Romanian throughout.
Step-by-step itinerary
Catamaran excursion with dolphin watching
- Board the Lagoon 380 catamaran
- Receive safety briefing from crew
- Sail in search of dolphins
- Anchor for swimming and water activities
- Enjoy paddle surfing, snorkeling, and fishing
- Return to port with drinks served
The Experience
The boat leaves the port and heads out with your small group to search for dolphins in freedom. The crew stays with you the whole time, explaining what to watch for and how to use the snorkeling and paddle surf boards safely. If sea conditions allow, you'll anchor in open water for a swim, then try the paddle boards or snorkel gear before heading back to port. On the return, you get a complimentary drink—soft drink, beer or water—and the option to play your own music as you approach land.
What makes this different from a larger tour is the group size: maximum 12 people means the catamaran doesn't feel crowded, and the crew can adjust the route based on where dolphins are spotted that day. The Lagoon 380 is built for comfort in the sun and sea breeze, and the restroom on board means you don't have to plan around that. Bring a cap, sunglasses and sun protection; the operator recommends your own bath towel for after the water activities.
Weather shapes the day—if conditions don't permit sailing to the usual spots, the crew will adapt the route. That's also why paddle surfing and snorkeling are subject to sea conditions: on calm days you get both; on rougher days the focus stays on the boat and the dolphins. The whole excursion runs 2 hours from departure to return.

What's the chance of actually seeing dolphins on this tour?
The catamaran sails in search of dolphins in freedom, and the crew adjusts the route based on where they're spotted that day. Dolphins are wild animals, so sightings are never guaranteed, but the crew knows the waters and the planning prioritizes areas where they're likely to be.
Can I bring my young children or a baby on the catamaran?
Infants and small children can ride, and infants are required to sit on an adult's lap. The boat has a restroom on board, and the crew can brief you on safety before departure. Infants and small children can also travel in a pram or stroller before boarding.
What's included in the complimentary drink?
One drink per person is included during the return to port, and you can choose from soft drinks, beer or water. Snacks are also provided as part of the excursion.
Do I need to bring my own snorkeling gear or paddle board?
No—snorkeling equipment and paddle surf boards are provided on board. The crew will show you how to use them safely, and availability depends on sea conditions that day.
What language does the guide speak?
The live guide speaks English, Spanish or Romanian throughout the excursion.
What if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?
The activity is planned around sea conditions, and the crew will adjust the route if weather changes. Safety comes first, so if conditions don't permit the usual sailing plan, the crew will adapt to keep the excursion safe and still enjoyable.
