A coastal temple, not a mountain one—Haedong Yonggungsa sits on the East Sea instead of in the hills.

A 10-hour guided tour of Busan's hardest-to-reach spots—Haedong Yonggungsa Temple facing the coast, Gamcheon Culture Village, and Huinnyeoul village on a cliff above the southern sea. Round-trip transfers, a professional guide in English, Korean or Chinese, and admission to all three sites are included. Pickup runs from three Busan subway stations between 8:20 and 9:20 a.m.

The Experience

The tour starts early from one of three subway stations—Busan, Seomyeon or Haeundae—and moves through a van with other travelers. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is the first stop, a working temple built directly on the coast facing the East Sea, unlike the mountain temples most visitors know. The setting alone marks it: the sound of waves, the salt air, the way the temple sits between the water and the sky. From there, the route moves to Cheongsapo Port, where the Haeundae Blueline train passes the beach in the background—a photo spot locals use to frame the sea, the tracks and the port buildings all at once. This is where the lunch break lands; you eat at your own cost while the guide waits.

Huinnyeoul Cultural Village comes next, a small neighborhood in Yeongdo with cliffs dropping straight to the southern sea—the only village in Korea built this way. The narrow streets and the cliff views give the place a particular atmosphere that the guide will explain. Then Gamcheon Culture Village, known as the Santorini of Korea, fills the afternoon. It started as a refugee settlement during the Korean War and has been preserved and painted into a tourist destination with colorful buildings, sculptures and murals covering the hillside. The village is walkable and photo-dense, and the guide leads you through the layout so you do not miss the main spots.

Guides speak English, Korean or Chinese by default; Japanese-speaking guides are available if you book at least 2–3 days ahead. The tour runs even with just one guest, and it is built for all fitness levels—strollers and service animals are welcome. Note that the Blueline Beach Train and Sky Capsule at Haeundae are not included; on-site tickets may be available but are not guaranteed.

What’s included

Is this one for you?Pick your departure station based on where you are staying in Busan—the three options spread across the city so you do not add extra travel time before the tour starts. The 10-hour span covers four distinct neighborhoods and two cultural villages in one day, which is only possible because the guide handles the route and the van moves between stops; doing this alone would mean planning transport between each site and risking missed connections.
