The experience

You start with 15–20 minutes of training on a dedicated course, learning to balance and steer before you leave the village. Once you're steady, the guide takes you through Stormsriver Village itself, then into one of several forest routes that wind through cool pine woodland and indigenous forest. The terrain is gentle enough that the operator welcomes all fitness levels, though the ride does require balance and core stability.

The 1-hour tour keeps you in the village and nearby forest. If you want more, the 2-hour option goes deeper: you'll follow paths into the ancient Tsitsikamma Forests and reach the 1000-year-old Tsitsikamma BIG Tree before returning to the village. Both routes are guided, so you're not navigating alone, and the guide handles the pace and any questions about what you're riding through.

You can choose a 12:00 PM or 4:00 PM departure, so you can fit this into a free afternoon or plan around other activities. The Segway and a guide are included. Bring water or grab the complimentary bottled water provided. Public transport runs nearby if you need it to reach the starting point.
