The Experience
The tour leaves Johannesburg daily and drives through the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains toward Kruger, arriving in time for a sunset game drive in an open safari vehicle. You stay at Sabie River Bush Lodge or a comparable three-star hotel, where dinner is provided. The next day is a full game drive—the core of the experience—spent in the same open vehicle with a shared group, stopping at the park's restaurants for lunch and comfort breaks while your guide points out the wildlife and landscape that make Kruger the most recommended safari destination in Africa.
The final day shifts to scenery. You leave the park and head to the Panorama Route along the Drakensberg escarpment, stopping at God's Window, Blyde River Canyon and Three Rondavels—all in Mpumalanga province. The drive itself is part of the experience: you pass through Dullstroom, the highest town in South Africa at 2,100 meters, and historical settlements along the way. By afternoon you're back in Johannesburg.
The guide speaks English and travels with the group throughout. The vehicle is air-conditioned, and bottled water is provided on board. WiFi is available during the drive. All park fees, taxes and meals are included in the price.

What animals will I see on the Kruger game drives?
Kruger is home to the full range of African wildlife, and sightings depend on the season and where the animals are on any given day. Your guide knows where to look and will navigate the park's roads to find them. The open safari vehicle gives you an unobstructed view in all directions.
Are the game drives in a shared vehicle or private?
The game drives are shared, meaning you'll be in an open safari vehicle with other travelers. This keeps the cost lower and often makes wildlife spotting easier, since guides can radio each other when animals are spotted.
What is God's Window on the Panorama Route?
God's Window is a viewpoint along the Drakensberg escarpment in Mpumalanga province where the landscape opens up dramatically—you can see across vast stretches of the lowveld below. It's one of the three main stops on the final day of the tour.
Is there time to rest between the game drives and the Panorama Route?
Yes. You have two full days of game drives, then overnight at the lodge between each day. The third day is the Panorama Route drive, which is scenic rather than intensive, and you return to Johannesburg by afternoon.
Can children come on this tour?
Children from age six are welcome. Specialized infant seats are available if you're traveling with younger children, and infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller during stops.
What's included in the price?
The tour includes pickup from Johannesburg, all transport, the accredited guide, two nights at a three-star lodge, all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), bottled water, park entry fees and taxes. Alcoholic beverages and tips are not included.
