You leave the postcard behind and drive into Triglav National Park, where the landscape shifts from manicured to raw. The day starts early from your meeting point in Bled and moves through three short hikes (around 30 minutes each, all optional) that break up the scenic drive without eating the whole day.

The route takes you over Vršič Pass — at 1,611 meters, the highest road pass in Slovenia — where you stop for a rewarding hike with views that stretch across the Julian Alps. On the way down, you'll see the Pagan Girl, a face carved into the cliff by erosion and time, and the Russian chapel, a small wooden Orthodox memorial that sits oddly beautiful in the alpine landscape. Then comes the Soča Valley, where the river runs that unreal emerald green the tour is named for. You walk to Pericnik Waterfall, a 52-meter drop surrounded by rock and spray, and later to Boka Waterfall, one of the most dramatic in Slovenia. A short lunch stop in Bovec (a town enclosed by high mountains) breaks the day in half.

If you want more adrenaline, there's an optional white-water raft down the Soča itself for an extra 70 euros per person — guests say it's the favorite part. The whole experience feels less like a structured tour and more like a road trip with someone who knows where the best stuff is. Your guide is a professional from the region, the park fees and transport are sorted, and you get free photos from the day. The minivan returns you to Bled by evening.
