The experience

Six hours takes you through two worlds. At Lipica Stud Farm, you walk the estate where these white horses have lived for more than 400 years: through the old manor house, the stables, and the Lipikum Museum, which traces the history of the Lipizzan breed and the stud itself. The farm sits in the middle of the Karst landscape, surrounded by meadows and oak and chestnut trees. Then you head to Škocjan Caves, where the underground Reka river has carved one of the world's largest underground canyons. The cave system is lined with giant stalactites, water rapids, and lakes. You walk across a bridge suspended 40 meters above the river, and the panoramic view at the cave exit is part of why UNESCO listed this site as a natural and cultural world heritage site in 1986.

The tour ends at the Škocjan Caves Regional Park, an open-air museum where you can walk through the grounds and see ethnological, geological, and archaeological monuments set in unspoiled nature. Your guide speaks English, Italian, or German and travels with the group throughout. Hotel or port pickup is included, so you don't arrange your own transport to the starting point.
