The experience
The Lipica Stud Farm sits in the Karst landscape where white Lipizzan horses have been bred since the 1600s. You walk through the estate past the old manor house and oak and chestnut trees, then move through the stables to see the horses up close. The Lipikum Museum documents the breed's history and the stud's role in preserving it. This is not a demonstration or a ride. You're on foot, moving through the working grounds and the museum at your own pace within the guided structure.
Škocjan Caves is one of the world's largest underground canyons, carved by the Reka river and recognized by UNESCO in 1986 for its geological and cultural significance. The cave system holds giant stalactites, water rapids, and underground lakes. The centerpiece is a bridge positioned 40 meters above the river, where you stand and look down into the gorge. After the cave walk, you visit the Škocjan Caves Regional Park, an open-air museum with ethnological, karstological and archaeological monuments where you can walk freely through the landscape.
