The experience
You arrive at Marina Puerto del Rey by 8:30 am and board by 9 am for the one-hour sail to Palomino or Piñeros Island. The catamaran's trampoline deck is where most people spend the morning: close enough to the water to slip in whenever you want, far enough back to dry off and watch the reef. Snorkeling gear is provided, and the crew picks secluded spots where the reef stays intact and the water stays clear. Between water time, you can float on the lily pad, a buoyant platform the crew anchors offshore so you can drift and soak without the boat.
Lunch arrives around midday: grilled barbecue chicken, yellow rice, green salad, fresh fruit and assorted snacks, all prepared on board. The crew sources ingredients locally and walks you through the cooking as it happens, not a formal class, but the flavors and technique are there if you want to pay attention. Beer, wine, sangria, sodas and water flow throughout the day. By 5 pm you're back at the marina, having spent eight hours on the water without driving, navigating or planning the stops yourself.
Bring a swimsuit, change of clothes, towels and sunblock. Shoes come off before boarding. The boat is small enough that the crew knows your name by the second hour, large enough that eight people don't feel crowded. Infants sit on a lap. The boat is not recommended for pregnant travelers.

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the snorkeling like at Palomino Island?
The reefs around Palomino Island are secluded, meaning they stay intact and the water clarity holds. The crew picks the spots and provides all snorkeling equipment. You decide how long to stay in the water and when to float on the lily pad or rest on the trampoline deck.
Is the lunch included in the price, or do I pay extra?

How far is Palomino Island from the marina?
