The experience
Your driver is a certified tour guide with 21 years on the island, fluent in English and Spanish, traveling in a 2024 air-conditioned vehicle. The route passes Plaza Las Americas, the largest mall in the Caribbean, on the way to San Sebastián and the waterfall. You'll stop at Cafe Oro de Puerto Rico to see how the beans grown in the island's mountain regions become the coffee you can purchase and take home. A fruit vendor near the Arecibo stadium offers free samples of organic produce grown locally.
At Gozalandia Falls, you set the pace. There's no fixed schedule or rushing through stops. Your guide photographs and films you at the waterfall at no extra charge. The park has Sha's Restaurant on-site if you want to eat (meals cost extra). Before you leave, the tour includes a complimentary mojito if you're 18 or older, or a soda if you're younger. The total time from pickup in San Juan through drop-off is around 9 hours, though you can request an extra hour without additional charge if the waterfall or the park holds your interest longer.
Water is included. Bring sunscreen and wear shoes suitable for wet rocks. If you're traveling with an infant and have your own car seat, there's a $49 charge to install it. The tour works for all fitness levels, though it's not recommended for anyone with cardiovascular concerns. Infants can ride in a stroller or sit on an adult's lap.
