Private Sailboat Tour Lisbon: Swim in the Tagus River
You help sail the boat and pick when to jump in the water.
A 4-hour private sailboat tour on the Tagus River departing from Doca de Santo Amaro, where you sail past Lisbon's monuments (the 25th of April Bridge, Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower and others), then anchor in a secluded spot to swim and sunbathe. The crew explains the landmarks along the way, and a welcome drink is served on board. Groups stay under 15 guests.
The experience
You depart from Doca de Santo Amaro on a 42-foot sailboat and head toward Belém, where the city's most recognizable monuments line the water. The 25th of April Bridge, Jerónimos Monastery, the Monument to the Discoveries, and Belém Tower pass as you sail. Your crew (two guides who speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French) gives a brief explanation of what you're looking at, so you know the history without a lecture. A welcome drink arrives as soon as you're underway.
Once the boat reaches a secluded anchorage, you can swim in the Tagus River, sunbathe on deck, or stay in the shade and watch the water. If you want to be more hands-on, you can work the sails and help tune them. The crew will show you how. There's no schedule once you're anchored. You set the pace. The boat carries a Bluetooth speaker, so music plays if you want it.
The tour runs 4 hours total. You choose between a private boat for up to 14 guests or up to 12 guests at checkout. Either way, the boat and crew are yours alone. No outside food or alcohol is allowed on board, but you can arrange a barbecue cooked on the boat for an extra 25€ per person, paid when you arrive. Additional drinks are available for 3€ each.
What’s included
- Welcome drink on arrival.
- two crew members who guide in English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French.
- Bluetooth speaker for music.
