Madeira Island ATV Tour: Custom Full Day Experience

You choose what the day covers, and the guide drives the terrain to match it.

A private full-day island tour in Madeira by all-terrain vehicle, entirely customized to your interests and pace, with a native guide who handles the route and the driving. You pick the departure time by mutual agreement, and the itinerary spans high mountains, coastline, volcanic rock pools, waterfalls, deep forest, vineyards, banana and sugar cane plantations, and historic sites: some on roads, some offroad for a bit of adrenaline. Children up to 12 ride free when families book for three people. All Portuguese tourism insurance is included.

• Explore vineyards and plantations
• Drive on roads and offroad
• Enjoy panoramic roof car ride

The experience

The tour starts with you telling the guide what you want to see and do. Instead of following a fixed itinerary, the day is built around your interests, whether that's high mountain views, a swim in volcanic rock pools, waterfalls, plantation landscapes, or historic sites. The all-terrain vehicle handles both paved roads and offroad stretches, so the route can go places a standard tour van cannot. Pickup happens at a time you agree on, not a set slot, which means the day fits your schedule instead of the other way around.

The guide is a native Madeira resident who knows the island in detail and leads every tour personally. The vehicle has a panoramic roof, so views open up as you move between the high mountains and the coastline. Offroad sections add a bit of adrenaline without requiring any special skill. The driver handles the terrain. Bring comfortable footwear, a rainproof jacket and sun protection. If you want to swim in the volcanic pools or the sea, bring a change of clothes.

The tour runs 7 to 8 hours and includes all required Portuguese tourism insurance and private transportation. Children under 12 join free when a family of three books together. Infants can ride in a pram or stroller, and specialized infant seats are available. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese or German depending on your preference.
