The tour starts with pickup from your chosen zone, then the route becomes yours to shape. Rather than follow a fixed itinerary, you tell your guide what draws you (whether that's off-road mountain passes, misty forest trails, quiet villages, or coastal views), and the day unfolds around those interests. The 4x4 vehicle handles terrain most cars cannot, opening access to spots few tourists reach. Your guide carries insider knowledge of the island and will suggest stops and timing based on what you want to experience.

A full day means roughly 7 to 8 hours on the road and on foot, with travel time built into that span. You might spend a morning hiking through Levadas (the island's ancient water channels threading through forests), then move to a viewpoint over the coast, then down to a black sand beach or a waterfall. The vehicle seats up to three or up to six depending on which option you book, so the group stays small and the guide can adapt the pace to your group's rhythm.
