The experience
The adventure starts at Magnibravura base in Albufeira with a safety briefing and vehicle instructions, then you drive your own buggy into the countryside. The route takes you through scenic hills and rural paths to a working goji and herbal farm where you can walk among aromatic plants, spices and animals while the guide explains local farming traditions. From there you drive to Castle of Paderne, a 12th-century Moorish fortress perched above the valley. The guide shares the site's history while you explore and take photographs from the 360-degree viewpoint.
After the castle, a short drive brings you to Paderne Village for a café break. You can order food and drinks (not included in the tour price), use the toilets, and walk around the village center. The return journey heads back through countryside and off-road tracks toward the base. Petrol is included in the price. The whole experience runs three hours from start to finish.
Each buggy needs a driver with a valid B-class license and at least 18 years old. Passengers must be 7 or older. Bring your physical driver's license (no learners' permits, photocopies or phone apps accepted) and a 150€ cash or card deposit per vehicle. It's fully refundable when you return.
