The experience
The day starts at the office on S. Batiancila Street and S. Segundo Street in Bantayan Island. From there the boat heads to Malapascua first (a run of one to two hours), where white sand beaches meet the reefs. You get in the water with snorkeling gear to explore the reefs, then climb back aboard for lunch on the island with traditional food (if you booked the meal option, otherwise you bring your own or buy on site). The guide is local and speaks English, German or Filipino.
After Malapascua, the boat crosses to Kalanggaman Island, where the guide takes you on foot through the island to show how people live there. The exact order of stops and timing can shift depending on weather and what the group is comfortable with: the operator plans the route on the day itself. Bottled water comes with you. Snorkeling equipment is provided. All taxes, the reef management charge, fuel and the boat are included in the price.
Lunch is only part of the package if you pick the meal option at checkout. If you do, let the operator know beforehand whether you want meat, seafood or vegetables. The whole day runs six to nine hours depending on conditions and how long you spend at each island.
