The experience
Cinty teaches from her kitchen studio in Makati, drawing on recipes from her mother's kitchen and her nutrition certification background. You'll work hands-on through the cooking process, learning essential Filipino techniques as you go. The class covers two dishes (you might make an appetizer and main, or a main and dessert), and the menu shifts with the season. Options include braised adobo, sour tamarind sinigang, pan-seared beef with onions, grilled eggplant omelet, curried tofu skewers, or caramelized banana rolls, all available in traditional, vegan, or vegetarian versions.
If you book the market tour option, Cinty drives you to Guadalupe public market, a seven-minute trip from her studio. It's one of the largest wet markets in Makati, with stalls selling fresh meat, seafood, vegetables and fruit. You'll walk the market area and then Cinty takes you to her favorite sellers to pick out ingredients for the class. Without the market option, you arrive at the studio and begin cooking right away.
The class runs three hours and ends with the two of you sitting down to eat the meal you've made together, served with local beer or wine. The experience is private and personalized (just you and Cinty), and all taxes, fees, gratuities and the meal itself are included.
