The experience
The day starts with a 2.5-hour drive south from Manila to Pagsanjan Falls in Laguna Province, about 100 kilometers away. You'll hike down from Cavinti Town through Pueblo El Salvador Nature's Park to reach the main falls, descending a steep steel ladder to the base. Once there, a traditional bamboo raft with two expert local paddlers takes you through fast-moving rapids and closer to the falls themselves. You swim in the cold mountain water and paddle into the Devil's Cave, a dark cave tucked behind the waterfall that resembles a devil's face. The return ride down the rapids is a roller-coaster rush, guided by the same paddlers. After hiking back up, you'll have time for lunch at the town center before heading to the second part of the tour.
From Pagsanjan, the drive continues to Tagaytay for a guided bamboo bike descent. You'll ride approximately 10 kilometers downhill along the scenic Tagaytay–Taal Lake Road, dropping from 630 meters above sea level to zero elevation. The route follows an easy asphalt trail through lush mountain scenery. You stop at six designated photo stops, about five minutes each, for views of Taal Lake, Taal Volcano Island, and the surrounding mountains. The bike portion takes 45 to 60 minutes. Bamboo bikes, helmets, a safety vest, front and back bike guides, and vehicle support follow your group throughout.
The full tour runs about 12 hours from hotel pickup to return. Your AC vehicle, driver, fuel for the 350-kilometer round trip, tolls, parking, all entrance fees, and environmental charges are included. Bring extra clothing, a towel, an umbrella, and a hat for the water activities. You can leave them in the vehicle while you're on the raft and at the falls. Lunch and breakfast are available on site but not included in the tour price. Tips for the two raft paddlers are not required but are generally expected.
