The experience
The tour starts at Magellan's Cross, the wooden cross planted by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521 when he arrived in Cebu, then moves to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño, the oldest Roman Catholic church in the Philippines. Inside is the Santo Niño statue, a gift from Magellan himself to Rajah Humabon and Queen Juana. Fort San Pedro, the oldest and smallest fort in the Philippines, built by Spanish and indigenous Cebuano laborers under Miguel López de Legazpi, comes next: a compact stone structure that anchors the city's colonial past.
The route then climbs into the hills of Busay to reach Sirao Garden, a local flower garden with vibrant fields and picturesque landscapes, and the Temple of Leah, often called the "Taj Mahal of Cebu" for the love story behind its creation. A Chinese temple with views over the city center and the Heritage of Cebu Monument round out the cultural stops. The tour includes a guitar-making workshop, where you can watch the craft that has made Cebu famous for stringed instruments. Tops Lookout, the final stop, sits 610 meters high and offers panoramic views of Metro Cebu, Mactan Island, and Olango Island. Sunset is the best time to visit, when the cool mountain air and city lights below make the vantage point most striking.
An air-conditioned vehicle and a live guide in English or Japanese are included throughout. The eight-hour day suits all fitness levels, and children from age five can join. Pickup is arranged as part of the booking.

What is Magellan's Cross and why does the tour start there?

Is the Temple of Leah worth visiting, or is it just a photo stop?
The Temple of Leah is one of Cebu's most remarkable landmarks, built as a symbol of love. Its architecture and the story behind its creation make it a meaningful stop, not just a photo opportunity, and it sits in a location with views over the surrounding hills.
What time of day is best to visit Tops Lookout on this tour?
Sunset is the best time to visit Tops Lookout. At that hour, the cool mountain air and the city lights beginning to glow below create the most striking panoramic view of Metro Cebu, Mactan Island, and Olango Island from the 610-meter-high circular viewing deck.
