Paragliding over the Huacachina Desert is a tandem flight where you fly with a certified pilot over the desert dunes for 15 minutes, starting with a dune buggy ride to the takeoff point and ending with a 4K video of your flight. Small groups receive personalized attention throughout, and the full experience runs about two hours from meeting to landing. Children from age 12 are welcome, and guides speak English, Spanish or French.

The experience

The day starts at the office at 3:30 PM with a brief introduction and any questions answered before you head out. A ten-minute walk takes you to the dune buggy staging area, then you ride across the desert for about fifteen minutes until you reach the takeoff zone. Once there, the team assesses wind conditions, prepares the paraglider, and walks you through the flight procedure and safety steps so you know what to expect in the air.

At 4:15 PM you launch into a 15-minute tandem flight strapped to a certified pilot who handles the equipment while you experience the view. The flight ends around 5:30 PM in the landing zone, and from there it's a ten-minute walk back to Huacachina through the oasis landscape. You leave with a 4K video of the flight shot on a 360 camera, so you have footage of what you saw from above.
