Paragliding over Huacachina is a tandem flight with a certified professional pilot over the desert oasis, lasting 12 to 15 minutes in the air. A 4x4 vehicle carries you from the meeting point to the takeoff area in the dunes, where you receive a safety briefing before launching. The flight is recorded on a 360° camera so you can relive it from every angle. Guides speak English or Spanish. Minimum age is 13.

The experience

The experience starts with a 4x4 buggy ride through the dunes to the takeoff point. Once there, a certified pilot fits you with a helmet and harness, walks you through the safety essentials, and then you're airborne together. For 12 to 15 minutes you're flying tandem. The pilot handles the wing and the landing while you take in the panoramic views of the desert, the dunes and the oasis below. The entire flight gets captured on a 360° camera mounted to the harness, so you end up with a video that shows the whole experience from every direction.

The full outing runs about two hours from start to finish, which covers the transfer out, the briefing, the flight itself and the return. You'll need to be at least 13 years old to fly, and the activity suits most fitness levels. The pilot does the physical work. Guides are available in English or Spanish, so you can ask questions before you launch.
