The experience

The bus is a panoramic double-decker, which means you get a view from the top deck as it moves through the city. Free Wi-Fi keeps you connected, and the bilingual guide narrates in Spanish and English so you follow what you're passing. A live map on your phone shows where each bus is and when it will arrive at your next stop: no guessing at the curb.

Kennedy Park in Miraflores is the starting point for both routes, surrounded by cafes and craft shops. From there, the Red Route takes you to Larcomar (a shopping center perched over the Pacific cliffs), Bicentennial Park, Huaca Pucllana (a 4th-to-7th-century adobe pyramid in the middle of the city with its own museum), the Inca Markets where you can buy textiles and ceramics, and Parque Intihuatana by the seawall. The Yellow Route goes the same way through Miraflores but then heads inland to the Magic Water Circuit (the world's largest ornamental fountain complex with 13 fountains, lights and water shows), then Exhibition Park with its lagoons and the Lima Museum of Art, Plaza San Martín with its early 20th-century architecture, and Alameda Chabuca Granda, a pedestrian promenade next to the Historic Center where you can try traditional Peruvian sweets.

You pick your pass length (24, 48 or 72 hours), and hop on and off as many times as you want within that window. There's no fixed itinerary to follow, no group to keep pace with, and no pressure to see everything in one go. The constraint is time, not a schedule: you control how long you stay at each stop and which ones matter to you.

Does the bus go to the Cathedral of Lima or the Historic Center?

The Yellow Route stops at Plaza San Martín and Alameda Chabuca Granda, both in the Historic Center next to the Rimac River and the Stone Bridge. The Cathedral of Lima is nearby, though the bus does not stop directly at it. You can walk from either stop.
