The experience

Day two is the summit push: you wake at 2am, walk 3 hours across moraine and 4 hours on the glacier to reach the top at 5,752 meters. The 360° view from the summit lets you see Huascaran, Chopicalqui, Huandoys, Artesonraju and Chacraraju peaks spread across the horizon. After 40 minutes to take in the view and rest, you descend 3 hours back to base camp for the second night.
Your accredited guide handles all the technical details. The climbing and safety equipment is provided, and walking on the glacier requires no previous mountaineering experience. The guide speaks English and Spanish and stays with you throughout. On day three, a 3-hour walk and 3-hour drive bring you back to Huaraz by afternoon. If you want, you can stop at Laguna 69 on the way down. All meals are included (two breakfasts, three lunches, three dinners), plus bottled water and two nights' accommodation at the base camp refugio.

What equipment do I need to bring, and what's provided?
