The experience
The tour starts with hotel or airport pickup and a transfer to Bellavista Nanay port, where you board a typical Amazon boat for the journey upriver. The route winds through dense jungle where gray and pink dolphins surface during the trip. You'll visit the Indigenous Kukama community to learn about their relationship with the forest and their use of plants and natural medicine, then continue to Monkey Island to observe and interact with monkeys in their natural habitat before arriving at the lodge.
After lunch of typical jungle dishes, you swim in the Amazon River and relax on its beaches, then experience a "flowering bath" in black mud. At sunset, you watch the sky change over the water and look for pink dolphins (seasonal). A night excursion takes you on foot through the jungle to spot insects, tarantulas, frogs, scorpions, and nocturnal birds and monkeys. Dinner is served at the lodge.
Day two begins with sunrise observation and bird spotting, followed by breakfast. You visit the Wildlife Rescue Center to see sloths, monkeys, macaws, toucans, boa constrictors, and turtles, then stop at an Amazonian sugar mill to taste artisanal medicinal drinks like camu camu and ginger infusions. After a self-service lunch, you have time to explore the camp or rest by the pool before the boat returns to Iquitos around 5:30pm.

Is this one for you?Two days means you can dedicate a full day and night to the rainforest without cutting into the rest of your Iquitos itinerary, though the return to the city around 5:30pm on day two leaves the evening open. The overnight lodge stay is what makes the night excursion and sunrise observation possible. A 1-day tour would skip both.
