The experience
You board a 27-foot Proline at Flamenco Marina and cruise out into Panama Bay. The route passes the city skyline, the Canal anchorage, and under the Bridge of the Americas: views most visitors to Panama City never see from the water. If you want to fish during the ride, the boat targets inshore species in the bay, or you can head out to the Twenty-fathom area between Taboga and the Pearl Islands for deeper-water fishing. The captain and deckhand are bilingual and certified, and all fishing gear is on board.
Once at Taboga Island, the day is yours to shape. The island has three beaches where you can swim or snorkel using the provided gear. The historic village sits on narrow streets with the second-oldest church on the continent and local seafood restaurants where lunch is an option. If you'd rather stay on the boat and fish, or anchor and relax, that works too. The flexibility is the point: couples and small groups often split the day between water time and exploring on land. A restroom is on board, and the boat carries bottled water, juices, Gatorade and beer throughout the day.
The charter runs either 4 or 8 hours depending on which option you book at checkout. Hotel pickup and drop-off can be added for $20 per person if you need it. You'll need a valid passport on the day of travel, and the operator requires passport details at booking. The boat operates in all weather, so dress for the conditions. Maximum eight people per booking keeps the group small and the experience personal.
