The experience

The day starts with pickup in an air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel or meeting point near Boquete or David, then heads to Nacito Caldera where the canyoning begins. You'll move through volcanic terrain toward Waterfall Cave, where the first rappel drops 20 meters down a rock face into a pool below. From there the route opens into a wider canyon system with swimming holes and cave passages that let you move deeper into the landscape.

The centerpiece is Agua Viva waterfall, a two-level cascade that rises 60 meters. You rappel down the face of the waterfall itself, descending through the spray and mist with the full height of the drop visible around you. After the rappel, you swim and jump in the pools at the base. The final section is a ferrata route (a scramble using fixed cables and iron rungs bolted into the rock) that winds back up and out of the canyon. This is the only way to exit the system, and it sharpens your senses as you climb.

A local meal waits at the end of the day. Canyoning equipment, bottled water and entrance fees are all included. You bring swimwear, a towel and shoes that grip wet rock.
