The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel or airport, then moves straight to Lahore Fort, the city's main historical anchor. From there, the tour reaches Hazuri Bagh, a royal Mughal garden built in 1818 by Maharaja Ranjit Singh and set between the fort and the Badshahi Mosque: a white marble pavilion surrounded by landscaped grounds that once served as a royal court. The Badshahi Mosque itself, completed in 1673, dominates the next stop: its red sandstone structure rises with intricate marble inlay and massive domes, the courtyard alone holding 100,000 worshippers. Beside it stands the Tomb of Allama Iqbal, the poet-philosopher whose vision shaped Pakistan's independence, built in 1951 and blending Mughal and Afghan styles.

The walled city opens next through Delhi Gate, one of Akbar's original 13 gates, now leading into narrow bazaars and centuries-old havelis. A walk through Gali Surjan Singh, a heritage alleyway lined with preserved wooden balconies and Sikh-era architecture, offers a quieter glimpse into old Lahore before the tour reaches Wazir Khan Mosque. Built in 1634, this mosque is known for intricate tile work, frescoes and calligraphy that showcase Mughal artistry at its finest. Food Street offers a lunch break if you want one: the tour pauses there but continues whether or not you eat.
