The experience

The Shri Katas Raj Temples, also called Qila Katas, are a series of Hindu temples linked together by walkways, built into the landscape near Kalar Kahar. The tour brings you to this complex to walk through the structures and understand their layout and history. From there, the route moves to Khewra, where the Mayo Salt Mine (known locally as Khewra Salt Mine) opens up: it is the world's second-largest salt mine, and the tour takes you inside to see how the salt is extracted and the scale of the operation underground.

Transport is customized to fit your group (a luxury car for smaller parties, a luxury van for larger ones), so everyone travels with space and comfort. An air-conditioned vehicle keeps the journey manageable across the 8 to 12 hours the full day requires. Bottled water is provided throughout. Your guide speaks English and travels with you, explaining what you are seeing at each stop and answering questions as you move between the temple complex and the mine.

Pickup is included in the booking, so you do not arrange your own transport to the starting point. The tour is wheelchair accessible, and all areas and surfaces at both sites can be navigated by visitors with mobility needs. Children from age 3 onward can join. Infants sit on an adult's lap. Public transportation options are available nearby if you prefer to meet the group at Kalar Kahar itself.
