The experience
The tour runs 7 to 8 hours and covers the Antrim Coast by private vehicle, with your guide choosing the route based on weather, crowds and how much time you want at each stop. Giant's Causeway is the anchor: a UNESCO World Heritage Site of hexagonal basalt columns formed by ancient volcanic activity, free to explore on the ground (the visitor centre is optional and separate). Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge hangs 40 metres above the Atlantic. If it's busy, you view it from the shore instead of crossing. The itinerary also takes in Ballintoy Harbour, a Game of Thrones filming location, and Dunluce Castle, a 17th-century ruin overlooking the coast.
Old Bushmills Distillery is the tasting stop. You sample whiskey in the samples room (distillery tours require advance booking and are separate). Dark Hedges, a 200-year-old beech tree avenue also featured in Game of Thrones, is another possible stop. Titanic Belfast, where the ship was finished before her maiden voyage, can be included depending on time and your return schedule. Bottled water is provided. Entrance fees to the individual sites are separate, as are parking charges.
Because the tour is private, your guide adapts the day to what interests you most. If you want to linger at one location or skip another entirely, the itinerary shifts. The coastal route itself may be omitted if weather or time makes it impractical, and the number of stops visited depends on how long you spend at each one.

Top questions
What is the Giant's Causeway and why is it worth seeing?
Giant's Causeway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the Antrim Coast made up of thousands of hexagonal basalt columns formed by ancient volcanic activity. The formations line the coast and are free to walk among. You explore them on the ground at your own pace, though the visitor centre is optional and costs extra.
Can I actually cross the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, or will I just look at it?
Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge can be crossed if it is not too busy and time allows. It spans the Atlantic 40 metres below. If queues are long or time is tight, you view it from the shore instead. Crossing can take up to two hours in total if the queue is heavy.
Does the tour include a full distillery tour at Bushmills?
The tour includes a sample at Old Bushmills Distillery in the samples room, where you taste whiskey. A full distillery tour requires separate advance booking and is not part of this package, though exclusive bottles sold only at the distillery are available to buy.
What Game of Thrones locations are on this tour?
Ballintoy Harbour and Dark Hedges are both Game of Thrones filming locations included in the itinerary. Ballintoy is a hidden coastal village, and Dark Hedges is a tunnel of 200-year-old beech trees.
Will I see Titanic Belfast on this tour?
Titanic Belfast, where the ship was finished before her maiden voyage, can be included depending on time remaining and your return schedule. It is not guaranteed on every tour, so confirm with your guide at the start of the day.
Do I need to pay extra for entry to Giant's Causeway and the other sites?
Yes. Giant's Causeway ground access is free, but the visitor centre costs extra. Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Dunluce Castle and Bushmills Distillery each charge separate entrance fees. Parking fees are also separate.
