The experience
The Causeway Coast route strings together five major stops across the North Antrim landscape in a single day. Giant's Causeway anchors the route: 40,000 basalt columns formed by volcanic eruptions 60 million years ago, a geological landmark and UNESCO site. From there you move to Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, where a one-kilometer clifftop walk leads to the bridge itself, strung between the mainland and a small island. Ballintoy Harbour, another Game of Thrones filming location, sits off the main road. The route takes you there deliberately to avoid the crowds on the standard path.
Old Bushmills Distillery is the only distillery in Ireland making triple-distilled single malt whiskey. The tour shows you the copper potstills where the spirit is distilled, and the triple-distillation process that defines Bushmills' character. The day ends at Dunluce Castle, a ruined fortress on the cliffs, timed for the evening light. The vehicle is an air-conditioned Mercedes (either a sedan for two or three travelers or a minivan for up to six), and the guide is live and English-speaking. The tour runs eight hours total, with pickup from your Belfast location included.
You choose one of five itineraries at checkout: the Causeway Coast tour described above, a Game of Thrones route hitting Dark Hedges and other filming locations, a Belfast Cultural tour, a Belfast Political tour, or the St Patrick's Trail. Each follows a set route, though you can request a custom itinerary if you have specific sites in mind. The operator works with you to fit the day to what you want to see.

Top questions
What is the Giant's Causeway and why is it on this tour?
Giant's Causeway is a natural formation of 40,000 basalt stone columns created by volcanic eruptions 60 million years ago. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site and geological wonder, and the anchor stop on the Causeway Coast route because it's the most visually distinctive landmark on the Antrim Coast.
Do I walk at Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge or just see it from a distance?
You walk the one-kilometer clifftop trail along the Antrim Coast and cross the rope bridge itself. The walk is on established paths with views over the coast. It's included in the tour itinerary.
What happens at Old Bushmills Distillery during the tour?
Old Bushmills Distillery is the only distillery in Ireland producing triple-distilled single malt whiskey. The tour takes you through the distillery to see the copper potstills used in the distillation process and learn how the triple-distillation creates the whiskey's smoothness and richness.
Can I customize the itinerary or do I have to follow one of the set routes?
You can follow one of four set routes (Causeway Coast, Game of Thrones, Belfast Cultural or Belfast Political), or request a custom itinerary. The operator will work with you at booking to design a day around your own priorities.
How many people can fit in the vehicle?
The tour accommodates up to six people per booking. You travel in either an air-conditioned Mercedes sedan (seating two or three in comfort) or a Mercedes minivan (seating six), depending on your group size.
