The Experience

The day runs eight to nine hours from pickup in Amsterdam, moving through four cities in a single arc. Rotterdam brings three separate moments: the Erasmus Bridge, the city's most important landmark and part of its official logo, a cable-stayed span crossing the Nieuwe Maas River; the Cube Houses, each one tilted 45 degrees on a hexagonal pylon, a striking example of how density and open space can coexist; and the Old Harbour, dating back to 1350, now lined with bars and restaurants where old barges sit alongside modern yachts. Kinderdijk closes the day—19 original windmills set in their historical surroundings, a UNESCO site where a system of mills and pumps has kept the polder dry for over 700 years. You have the option to step inside a working mill and hear the millers' stories, or take a scenic cruise to see them from the water.
