A 2-hour combo activity in Swakopmund where you operate a quad bike through Namibia's sand dunes and then ride a lie-down sandboard back down them. A professional guide leads groups of up to six, provides all equipment and safety gear, and stops for photos. No experience is required. Kids are welcome.

The experience

You get a short safety briefing, then ride a quad bike out into the shifting sand dunes of the Namib: the world's oldest desert. The guide leads the way and stays with your group the whole time. Stops happen when you want photos or when the terrain calls for it. The quad bikes and all the gear are straightforward to handle, and the guide walks you through everything before you start.

Once you reach the sandboarding location, you trade the quad for a lie-down sandboard and speed back down the dunes toward the facility. Both activities pack into the 2-hour window. Bottled water is included, and all equipment (quad bikes, sandboards, safety gear) comes with the booking. Groups are shared, though quieter seasons often mean you'll have the guide mostly to yourselves. One guide handles up to six riders.
