The experience
The Via Ferrata route runs straight up the Todgha Gorge cliffs. You're secured to steel cables the whole way, navigating ladders, bridges and rock faces while the red canyon walls rise around you. An expert guide leads the climb and handles the safety briefing before you start. All the gear (helmet, harness, gloves) comes with the booking. The route suits all skill levels, so climbers with no prior experience move at the same pace as those who've done this before.
After you finish the climb, you get a bottle of water or Moroccan tea to recover with while you take in the panoramic views of the gorge. If you want to extend the day, horse riding through the Todgha Valley is available as an add-on: you can ride before the climb to warm up, or after to cool down, passing through scenic trails and traditional Berber villages. The ride is optional and costs extra, so you only book it if the combination appeals to you.
Transportation to the trailhead at Ait Lahbib can be arranged on request. The guide speaks five languages, so language is not a barrier. Children from age 7 are welcome, and the activity is open to all fitness levels, though it's not suitable for anyone with cardiovascular concerns.
