The experience

The class starts with a market tour where you learn to spot fresh ingredients and understand how Moroccan cooks choose what to buy. Your host asks what you like to eat and suggests dishes that match your tastes, then you walk through the market together to gather everything you'll need. This is not a pre-planned menu. You decide what goes on the table.

Once you've shopped, you head to the family home and join the cooking. You'll learn Moroccan techniques hands-on as you prepare appetizers, a main course, and dessert. The kitchen is set up for you to work alongside your host in a working space, not to watch from the side. After three hours, you sit down with the family and eat the full meal you've cooked, served with Moroccan hospitality and tea.

What’s included

  • Bottled water and snacks throughout the class.
  • the three-course lunch you prepare.
  • Moroccan coffee and tea after the meal.
  • instruction in Moroccan cooking techniques from your host.
