The experience
The tour starts at 7:00 am from Marrakech and climbs through the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi 'n Tichka pass, with stops for photos and breakfast along the way. You'll visit the 17th-century Telouet Kasbah, then spend the afternoon at Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO world heritage site where you have lunch and explore the kasbah before moving on to the Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate. The drive continues through Skoura toward Dades Valley, where you spend your first night in a hotel overlooking the gorges.
Day two takes you through Todra Gorge and into the Merzouga region, home to Erg Chebbi, Morocco's tallest sand dunes. After lunch in Tinjdad and a drive through Arfoud and Rissani, you arrive at the desert hotel in late afternoon. Around 5:30 pm you mount a camel for a 90-minute trek across the dunes, arriving at the Berber camp where you'll have time to relax, drink tea with nomads, try sandboarding, and watch the sunset. Dinner and music around the campfire happen at the camp, where you sleep in a luxury tent.
The final morning starts early to catch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast and time for another sandboarding session if you want it, you ride camels back to the hotel, then begin the return drive to Marrakech with a lunch stop on the way. You arrive around 7:00 pm.

Is this one for you?Book this tour if you want a self-contained journey with a driver handling all the navigation and timing: the three days move through multiple landscapes without you arranging transport between stops, and the overnight desert camp is the centerpiece rather than an add-on you coordinate separately.
