The Experience

We were already winding through the Atlas Mountains when I realized how quiet it gets up there — just the hum of our driver’s radio and the occasional sheep bell outside. There’s something about standing in a place that used to be so full of life but now echoes with your own footsteps.

The drive back was quiet — everyone sort of lost in their own thoughts or staring out at those endless mountain ridges. I kept thinking about that view from Ait Ben Haddou’s top terrace; it sticks with you longer than you’d expect, you know?
