Hassan Tower, a 12th-century minaret, stands in Rabat's skyline as your first major stop. The Mausoleum of Mohammed V sits nearby, holding the former king and his son Hassan II. Kasbah Oudaya, also from the 12th century, was once a launching point for armies heading to Spain and later a stronghold for pirates.
